Oxhar Business School treats all suspected and reported cases of malpractice with the highest level of seriousness.
This policy outlines how allegations of malpractice relating to Oxhar assessments, training events, and certification processes will be handled.

For the purposes of this document, the term “malpractice” refers to both malpractice and maladministration.


1. Definition of Malpractice

Malpractice includes any act or failure to act that threatens the integrity, validity, reliability, or credibility of:

  • Assessment processes
  • Training events
  • Certification outcomes
  • Oxhar Business School’s reputation

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Falsification of records
  • Plagiarism or academic dishonesty
  • Failure to maintain proper records
  • Actions damaging Oxhar’s authority or credibility

All relevant cases of suspected malpractice may be reported to regulatory bodies, and Oxhar may impose sanctions when appropriate.


2. Examples of Malpractice by Learners

Examples include (but are not limited to):

  • Obtaining assessment materials without authorization
  • Assigning another individual to sit an assessment
  • Impersonating another learner
  • Unauthorized collaboration
  • Damaging another learner’s work
  • Offensive or inappropriate content in assignments
  • Failure to follow assessment regulations
  • Producing or using forged documentation
  • False claims of special consideration
  • Fraudulently obtaining certificates
  • Plagiarism or misrepresentation of Oxhar-issued certificates

3. Examples of Malpractice by Oxhar Staff, Tutors, Assessors, or Associates

Examples include (but are not limited to):

  • Not following Oxhar or regulatory assessment procedures
  • Allowing impersonation of learners
  • Allowing copying or unauthorized collaboration
  • Completing assignments for learners
  • Divulging confidential learner performance information
  • Producing or allowing forged documents
  • Not reporting suspected malpractice
  • Inappropriate, disruptive, or offensive conduct
  • Damaging learner work
  • Failing to challenge disruptive or inappropriate behavior

4. Possible Sanctions

Following an investigation, if malpractice is upheld, Oxhar may impose sanctions including:

For Learners

  • Formal written warning
  • Removal from the course
  • Notification to employer, regulator, or police

For Employees, Tutors, and Associates

  • Written warning
  • Additional monitoring or conditions for future involvement
  • Disclosure to other relevant organizations
  • Dismissal
  • Reporting to authorities or regulators

Sanctions reflect the seriousness of the malpractice.


5. Procedure for Reporting Suspected Malpractice

Any staff member, learner, or third party may report a suspected case.

  • Reports must be made as soon as possible, and no later than two working days after discovery.
  • Reports should be submitted to the Training & Development Manager (Quality Nominee).
  • A written statement must accompany the report, including:
    • Date, time, and location of incident
    • Names of individuals involved
    • Description of suspected malpractice
    • Supporting evidence

Where possible, learners suspected of malpractice should be informed immediately.

For anonymous reports, Oxhar will investigate the report as thoroughly as possible.


6. Investigation Process

Oxhar Business School will:

  • Investigate all suspected cases impartially
  • Protect the integrity of assessments
  • Inform all individuals involved within 10 working days
  • Allow individuals the right to respond within 15 working days
  • Impose sanctions if malpractice is proven
  • Report to regulators or law enforcement where required

Records of all malpractice cases will be kept for at least five years.

Learners and staff have the right to appeal outcomes.
